Would you like to work as a team lead in a dynamic, ethnically diverse, NHS community paediatric Speech and Language Therapy team, who prioritise a compassionate culture, training and supervision? Due to internal promotion, our Speech and Language Therapy Team situated in the London Borough of Redbridge have an exciting opportunity for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist to join us on a full-time permanent basis to work in our Paediatric complex needs and dysphagia Team. We are a well-established service serving a diverse London community. This post will ideally suit an established Band 7 looking for a new challenge or a developing speech and language therapist ready to progress in their career. • Independently managing a caseload of children presenting with complex needs • Work closely with clients carers, families and professionals to raise awareness, knowledge and skills related to the range of strategies that improve complex needs and feeding outcomes across settings. • Making highly specialist clinical decisions following assessment of complex cases • Planning and implementing specialist packages of support and intervention • Providing clinical support/supervision for SLT’s working in clinic settings and dysphagia in special schools • Working in the context of a multi- disciplinary team in the Redbridge Child development Centre • Provide specialist knowledge, advice, training and teaching to parents, carers, students and speech and language therapy team. Starting with NELFT NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focussing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex. Probationary Period This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). High Cost Area Supplement This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (with a minimum of £4,313 to a maximum of £5,436). Content of the advertisement which must include 3 essential criteria for the post Working as part of the team you will provide a service for children aged 0-18 presenting with a range of complex needs eating and drinking difficulties within our Child Development Centre and Children’s Homes. You will be leading the team and working alongside existing post holders, such as the dysphagia lead, to develop the complex needs service, share management responsibilities and the caseload. The Speech and Language Therapy Service in Redbridge operates within a multi-disciplinary team for children with additional needs and disabilities.
